Web Content Contributors are responsible for determining their own internal workflow. It may be that the same person serves as the both editor and approver (Contributor Level 3), or there may be multiple Contributor Level 2s who report to a Contributor Level 3. Once these workflows are determined, Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing will assist to make sure they are set up correctly in the Modern Campus CMS content management system.

Regardless of the structure, when your unit or department makes changes to existing pages, have a second person review the content before you publish it or request approval from Administrators. Make sure that you use the various Modern Campus CMS tools designed to help check spelling, accessibility, and other key areas before publishing a page.

If a blatant spelling mistake(s) or factual error(s) appear on a page, the Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing will correct the page and advise the Content Contributor responsible to take more care when making or reviewing changes. If this is a recurring problem, Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing will relay the concern to the manager of the area and may suspend editing privileges until it is resolved.

Establishing new pages, sections, or other large pieces of content representing a major change from existing design or development conventions will require the active involvement of the Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing web team. Requests for new pages must be submitted online here by selecting “New Page.”

It is imperative that we all work together to keep the new website looking better every day. Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing will occasionally review content updates and other information prior to being published for spelling, grammar, and style.
